CM MK Stalin inaugurates water, sewage projects worth Rs 561 crore

The CMWSSB has undertaken numerous projects to ensure safe and clean drinking water and proper disposal of sewage.

CHENNAI:  Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday inaugurated 14 projects of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) worth Rs 561.26 crore and laid foundation stones for nine new projects worth Rs 201 crore.

The CMWSSB has undertaken numerous projects to ensure safe and clean drinking water and proper disposal of sewage. The CM on Friday inaugurated various drinking water projects which are being carried out at Kodunkaiyur, Nesappakkam and other areas and established new drainage projects in various areas.

GCC projects
The CM also inaugurated various projects of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) worth Rs 35.79 crore. This includes the renovation of schools and the establishment of new parks and playgrounds.

Several schools in Sharma Nagar, Royapuram, Shenoy Nagar and Adyar were renovated. Additionally, 19 new parks and five new playgrounds were established and five new urban health centres were constructed.
CM MK Stalin commended the GCC and said these initiatives were a step towards making Chennai a world-class city.

Minister KN Nehru, Mayor R Priya, chief secretary V Irai Anbu and other officials were present on the occasion.
