HYDERABAD: To accommodate the unrepresented mandals in the upcoming admission process in Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies(RGUKT), the Telangana RGUKT administration has written to the government requesting creation of supernumerary seats. As many as 202 mandals in Telangana have no representation in the shortlisted applications.
On the other hand, the AP government had already created 224 super supernumerary posts for its Idupulapaya and Nuzvid RGUKT campuses. With this the number of seats available in AP will go up from 2,000 to 2,224.
Similarly, if the Telangana government accedes to the request of RGUKT administration, the number of seats are likely to go up from the current 1,000 to 1,202 seats in its lone RGUKT Basar campus, popularly known as IIIT Basar.
Both Telangana and AP governments on Wednesday released the counselling schedule for admission to six-year integrated B Tech courses offered at these institutes.
In Telangana, 936 students have been shortlisted out of the 10,713 applications. The counselling for the shortlisted candidates will be held at Basar campus on July 25 and July 26. The counselling for special categories will be held on July 28 and July 29
Telangana State Council of Higher Education chairman T Papi Reddy, RGUKT vice-chancellor Prof S Satyanarayana released the list of shortlisted candidates here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, AP HRD minister Ganta Srinivas Rao announced the counselling schedule here for both Idupulapaya (RK Valley) and Nuzvid campuses.
The RK Valley campus had received 18,808 of which 829 have been shortlisted. Of the 18,608 applications received for a seat at Nuzvid campus, 1,151 candidates have been shortlisted.
The classes in all three RGUKT campuses will commence on August 1.
