KARIMNAGAR:  Bowing to the pressure from the victims and legal battles, one of the benamis of ASI B Mohan Reddy returned the documents of a victim and owner of a house. Nearly after 20 months fight against illegal money lending of the ASI, victims succeeded. It may be recalled that Pulugam Mallesham, a benami of Mohan Reddy returned and made legal registration to the owner of the asset Gone Raji Reddy, who took a loan of D 10 lakh from Mohan Reddy in 2012 with the building worth D25 lakh as guarantee. Later, Raji Reddy paid D 15 lakh including interest but Mohan Reddy did not return the asset which was registered on Mallesham’s name.

Loksatta Udyama Samstha district President N Srinivas said after the Central government brought the Prohibition of Benami Property Transaction (PBPT) Act 1986 this is the first case in which benami asset was cancelled and registered the asset back to the actual owner.
