HYDERABAD: BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, who has been comparing the TRS rule in the State with that of tyrannical Nizam, fired salvos at the State government again on Tuesday.

“KCR never gives appointment even to MLAs. He has become the most inaccessible CM. BJP MLAs who wanted to submit a memorandum to the CM, have been wrongfully arrested by the police and some of our party leaders have been kept under house arrest. It shows how democratic values are compromised in the State in KCR regime. Is the state being run by a democratically-elected government or a tyrannical Nizam?” he wondered.

Condemning the arrest of BJP lawmakers who tried to visit Pragathi Bhavan to submit a memorandum to KCR on Tuesday in protest against the banishment of Swami Paripoornananda from Hyderabad for six months, Muralidhar Rao, in a tweet, expressed unhappiness on this.

Earlier in the day, BJP MLAs K Laxman, G Kishan Reddy and Ch Ramachandra Reddy, MLC N Ramachandra Rao, senior leader Baddam Bal Reddy and others tried to march towards Chief Minister’s official residence, Pragathi Bhavan  but all of them were taken into preventive custody and party MLA T Raja Singh was placed under house arrest.

Kishan Reddy told reporters that BJP leaders had earlier written a letter to the CM seeking his appointment. “We wanted to meet the CM in order to take up Swami Paripoornanada’s issue. But we were not allowed,” he said.

“Government’s decision to extern Swami Paripoornananda from the State capital for six months is undemocratic as the seer has not made any controversial statements against anybody,” Kishan Reddy demanded.
