HYDERABAD: Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family, BJP State president Bandi Sanjay on Thursday accused them of infiltrating and exploiting the Telangana movement for their own benefit. Addressing the BJP’s third ‘Nirudyoga March’ held in Sangareddy town, Sanjay claimed that the CM’s family entered and hijacked Telangana movement “like a snake that enters an anthill and occupies it”.

“After coming to power, KCR’s family members have become wealthy by doing luccha, lafanga and liquor businesses, while the people were turning into beggars,” he alleged. Sanjay demanded a fair investigation into the TSPSC question paper leak case by a sitting High Court judge. He also called for the removal of IT Minister KT Rama Rao from the Cabinet and compensation of Rs 1 lakh to each of the affected candidates.

Sanjay expressed solidarity with the ongoing protest of the junior panchayat secretaries for job regularisation and condemned the Chief Minister’s threat to dismiss them. He reminded the crowd that it was the people’s struggle, the ‘Sakala Janula Samme,’ that led to the formation of Telangana, and accused KCR of betraying the promises made to government employees and workers.

Responding to Finance Minister Harish Rao’s allegations that the BJP’s promise of free education would result in the closure of private educational institutions, Sanjay attributed the financial difficulties faced by these institutions to the State government’s failure to release fees reimbursement arrears.

Veteran actress M. Vijayashanthi joined the chorus of criticism, questioning the excessive expenditure of Rs 1,600 crore on the new Secretariat complex, which was initially budgeted at Rs 400 crore.

Urging the youth not to succumb to bribery during the upcoming Assembly elections, Vijayashanthi encouraged them to stand against the current government. She emphasised the importance of strength and resilience, advising the youth to explore alternative paths to success rather than resorting to despair.
