Telangana grandmaster Raja Rithvik clinches bronze in Spain tourney

HYDERABAD: Telangana grandmaster Raja Rithvik secured the second runner-up position and the bronze medal at the Pontevedra International Chess Championship, held in Pontevedra, Spain, from July 24 to 30.

Representing Hyderabad, the young Grandmaster scored 7.0 points from nine rounds in a fiercely contested field of 92 players from across the globe. Rithvik remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, recording five wins and four draws while displaying impressive tactical precision.
