Telangana High Court quashes case against Jagga Reddy

The case alleged that Congress leaders held a rally on January 19, 2021 without prior police permission and planned to lay siege to Raj Bhavan.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has quashed a criminal case against former Congress MLA Thurpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy arising out of a 2021 Congress protest against the Union government’s farm laws and fuel price hike.

Justice BR Madhusudhan Rao allowed the petition and set aside proceedings in CC No. 470 of 2023 arising from Crime No. 38 of 2021 of Saifabad Police Station.

The case alleged that Congress leaders held a rally on January 19, 2021 without prior police permission and planned to lay siege to Raj Bhavan.
