After her spectacular entry into the world of cinema with the Malayalam super-hit Premam, Sai Pallavi will now make her debut in Tamil cinema with Karu, director Vijay’s next film.

It was previously announced that Vijay would direct the Tamil remake of Charlie with Madhavan and Sai Pallavi reprising Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy’s roles, respectively.

But he has now officially started working on Lyca Productions’ Karu, whose puja was held on Sunday. The director, who is busy with the post-production work for his next release, Vanamagan says, “Yes, Sai Pallavi is a part of it.

Nirav Shah will handle the camera, Jayashree Lakshminarayanan is the art director, and Antony is  the editor. We’re currently on the lookout for a child artiste to play an important role in this film.” Talking about the Charlie remake, he says, “I’m not sure when it is going to happen, but right now, I’m not doing it.” Vijay’s Vanamagan will hit the screens on May 19, while Sai Pallavi’s next release will be her Telugu debut, Fidaa.
