Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, star of many superhit films in Hindi and Telugu, is the latest name to join the team of Vishwaroopam 2. She will be playing Kamal Haasan’s mother in the movie.
Last month, Kamal Haasan had made an official announcement through his Twitter handle that the dubbing and post-production works for Vishwaroopam 2 had begun. The first look poster of the film was unveiled on May 2.
The sequel to Vishwaroopam is said to explore an interesting angle not handled in the first film. Word is that this one will explore the mother-son sentiment between Kamal Hassan and Waheeda Rehman.
The original was shot in the US, while the sequel will be set in India in addition to a few other international locations. It is expected that the film will get released by the end of this year.
Written and directed by the actor himself, and produced by his own Raajkamal Films International, the film will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Vishwaroopam 2’s star cast also includes Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, and Andrea Jeremiah.
Ghibran will once again be teaming up with Kamal Haasan, after Uttama Villain and Papanasam, to compose the music for this film.
