Vijay Deverakonda, who played the lead in Pelli Choopulu, will be seen in a pivotal role in Mahanati. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, is a biopic on the legendary actress Savitri.
While the makers have already announced that Dulquer Salmaan has been cast as Gemini Ganesan in the film, this development comes as a surprise. Unconfirmed sources say Vijay will star opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who plays a journalist in the film.
Savitri’s story will be told from the perspective of Samantha’s character. Keerthy Suresh will be essaying the role of Savitri.
