Laxity of agri   officials angers minister

SANGAREDDY: Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy was furious that there is lack of coordination between agriculture department officials and mandal level officials and that farmers were the victims due to this. The minister, along with irrigation minister Harish Rao, held a review meeting at the collectorate with officials of agriculture, horticulture, silk industry departments in view of Rabi season.

On the occasion, minister Srinivas Reddy said, “Officials have to coordinate for the benefit of farmers. Reports submitted by the agriculture department district level officials, mandal level officials and VRO are different and this will lead to problems while paying compensation to the farmers.”

The minister directed  officials to take initiatives to ensure farmers get their land soil tested and  loans sanctioned.
