Suspect in Bondi Beach shooting native of Hyderabad: Telangana Police

Telengana Police have revealed that the person behind the Bondi Beach mass shooting is an Indian citizen. 50-year-old Sajid Akram, one of the two shooters, is originally from Hyderabad, Telangana.

Sajid had left India for Australia in November 1998, in search of employment. According to police, he had limited connections with his Telangana family for the past 27 years while he visited only five to six times due to family-related concerns.

Sajid and his son, Naveed, carried out a mass shooting in Bondi, killing 15 people, on December 14. Telangana police stated that his radicalisation had no connections with India.The incident is being treated as a terrorist attack by the Australian government.
