Militants kill two soldiers in Pakistan

Some militants today opened fire on an army vehicle in Pakistan's restive North Waziristan tribal region, killing two soldiers and injuring as many others, the army said.

PESHAWAR: Some militants today opened fire on an army vehicle in Pakistan's restive North Waziristan tribal region, killing two soldiers and injuring as many others, the army said.

Soon after the attack, the security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

The army, while acting on a tip-off, raided a house where militants were hiding. Realising that the forces were fast approaching, the militants opened fire.

The army said that two soldiers were killed and two others were injured in the attack.
