Indian, Bolivian nationals arrested in smuggling of cocaine in Kathmandu

The police arrested Indian national, Qamar Jahan when Bolivian national, Adhemar Anezlopez was handing over her a suitcase with 2.7 kg of cocaine in a hotel room in Thamel.

KATHMANDU: A 59-year-old Indian woman and a Bolivian national were arrested today for their alleged involvement in drug smuggling, the police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Indian national, Qamar Jahan when Bolivian national, Adhemar Anezlopez was handing over her a suitcase with 2.7 kg of cocaine in a hotel room in Thamel, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle.

Jahan had arrived at Kathmandu on a flight from New Delhi.

The police have started further investigation into the case.
