SINGAPORE: An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck off the Pacific island nation of Tonga on Saturday, the United States Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties from the quake, which hit at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), about 470 km (292 miles) off the town of Neiafu.
