GUNTUR: Guntur Zilla Parishad chairperson Shaik Johny Moon on Friday claimed threat to her life from Social Welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu. “I may be physically eliminated by the minister,” Jhony Moon, who also belongs to the ruling TDP, said at a press conference here, taking everyone by surprise and sending shock waves across the party.
“I have told CM N Chandrababu Naidu that I have a threat from Kishore Babu. Even then, he continues to threaten me that I would be killed,” the chairperson said.
“Though I have no personal rivalry with him, he began nursing a grudge against me and interfering in works that have to be executed by the ZP. He, in fact, told officials not to take up any development works in Kakumanu, my home mandal,” she alleged.
She also said Kishore had been harassing her for the last nine months. “He told Kakumanu mandal officials not to invite me to any programme. After a series of incidents, I have taken this to the notice of the CM. Since then, he turned more inimical to me,” she said.
As her allegations spread like wildfire, Kishore Babu denied claims saying, “She is like my daughter and her allegations are false and baseless.” He further said, “The hallmark of the TDP is discipline. If she has any problem with me, I will talk to her personally without any hesitation.”
