VIJAYAWADA: Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu has said that Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Park is coming up in 20 acres of land in the capital region of Amaravati.
The State government will launch the works of the memorial park on the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar on April 14.
The government will also install a 125-feet bronze statue of Ambedkar.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Ananda Babu said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would announce the location of the Ambedkar memorial park. Water and clay from the birth place of Ambedkar, as well as from Parliament will be brought to the memorial park.
The memorial park will have a meditation centre, library, open air theatre and study centre.
Excise Minister K Samuel Jawahar, SC Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakara Rao, Housing Board chairman V Ramaiah, MLAs U Kalpana, T Sravan Kumar, Bode Prasad, T Aditya, T Soumya and others were present.
