VISAKHAPATNAM: The district administration has made elaborate arrangements at Swarna Bharathi indoor stadium, where the counting process for the votes of the MLC elections of North Andhra Pradesh is going to be taken on March 20. The postal ballets from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram were expected to reach the venue by Sunday night. The counting process will begin at 8 am.

The district administration has already appointed adequate staff for the counting process at the Swarna bharathi stadium. District collector Pravin Kumar said that the staff were given training about the calculation of votes and the other procedures to taken up during the counting day and for the benefit, a mock voting was calculated on Saturday. As the votes will be calculated manually, the officials were asked to take up in a proper way. The contestants and agents were allotted places in the stadium itself and were asked to sit the blocks allotted.
The police teams were divided into two beaches and the counting procedure is expected to take place for around 36 hours. On Sunday, the ACP (East Sub Division) has issued orders passing section 144 in the region.
He also passed strict orders prohibiting public gatherings, fire cracker bursts, usage of drones, vehicle rallies, beating of drums etc.
Liquor shops, bar & restaurants will be also closed down on March 20.
