VISAKHAPATNAM: Civil Aviation minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju promised that henceforth the public announcements would be made in Telugu language besides English and Hindi in all flights, operated by various airlines and also at five airports across Andhra Pradesh.

Responding to the letter of Andhra Pradesh Assembly deputy speaker  Mandali Buddha Prasad on February 16, 2017, the Civil Aviation minister released an official letter on Thursday announcing that the request would come into force soon.

Though it is very difficult to train the crew in making announcements in all regional languages (18 languages are recognised in the Constitution) in India, he promised that the announcement would be made in Telugu language in all airports of the state.
