GUNTUR: Transport officials conducted a special drive and seized 22 autos for overloading, in Guntur district on Monday. The officials registered cases at Guntur, Bapatla, Narasaraopet, Piduguralla and Mangalagiri areas. Transport deputy commissioner G S Raja Ratnam said that the special drive will continue to check overloading of passengers in auto rickshaws. “Due to overloading, accidents have increased in the district. We will take stern action against autos violating Motor Vehicles Act, 1988,” he said.
