The leading Indian auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki have come up with the much anticipated trim Maruti Ciaz Z+. A lot of hype had been building up over this top end model and now the wait is finally over with Maruti launching Z+ trims. As per the pricing, ZXI+ petrol variant will be available at Rs. 9.81 lacs while ZDI+ diesel variant will cost Rs. 10.37 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Maruti Ciaz Z was quite popular itself and the new Z+ makes sure that it carries forward all the popular features of the predecessor, in addition to the scintillating 7 inch touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system that can be interacted with via voice commands to navigate to the desired location.
The interior of the car has leather upholstery which extends on to the steering wheels that is also leather covered giving an utmost premium feel as soon as you put your hands on it. The boot space is large allowing comfortable seats that can be reclined back as and when required. The overall ambience is quite soothing as soon as you step into the cabin but what would be grasping the user’s attention is the 7 inch touchscreen as mentioned above. The infotainment screen splits into two frames for reverse parking camera so that you can get appropriate directions. The system has plenty to offer in the form of Aux-in, Bluetooth integration with phone for audio streaming, USB, CD player, etc. There is integration for smartphone as well but for certain limited apps.
From the outside, Maruti Ciaz Z+ looks gorgeous with stunning new 16-inch alloy wheels. The dimensions of the car constitutes length of 4490mm, a width of 1730mm and a height of 1485mm. The wheel base for the vehicle is 2650mm whereas ground clearance is 170mm. The details are almost similar to the Z trim with small nick knacks here and there.
As far as the mechanical statistics are concerned, nothing is changed in Z+ compared to its junior variants as it features the same K14B petrol engine and DDiS200 turbo diesel engine. The petrol variant has a 1373cc displacement delivering power output of 91.2bhp at 6000rpm and 130Nm torque at 4000rpm. The engine displacement is slightly less for the diesel alternative with 1248cc churning out 88.5bhp at 4000rpm and 200Nm torque at 1750rpm. Both the variants of vehicle has a five speed manual transmission system although petrol variant has a 4 speed automatic alternative as well.
In terms of mileage, Maruti Ciaz Z+ is pretty much at the top among its competitors with the petrol variant offering 19.2kmpl. This is of course for the automatic transmission vehicle while the one offered with manual transmission system gives away a fuel economy of 20.73kmpl. The diesel Maruti Ciaz Z+ gives a mileage of 26.21kmpl.
For safety, Maruti Ciaz Z+ has anti-lock braking system, parking sensors, central locking, passenger airbag, driver airbag, door ajar warning, crash sensor, anti-theft alarm, etc.
With the launch of the new top end variant, Maruti hopes to get a definite hike in sales this year giving a tough competition to the rivals. Currently, Ciaz sedan lock horns with Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna in the D-segment.
