The auto giant Toyota has revealed the new TRD (Toyota Racing Development) model at the ongoing SEMA Show that is at present being organized at Las Vegas, USA. These models are Camry and Corolla. Both the cars are updated mechanically and on the part of their exteriors as well. A total of five models come loaded with TRD accessories, they are the Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Avalon and Land Cruiser. All these are painted in silver white and are embroidered with custom TRD.
Corolla retailed in America is completely different from the one we see on the Indian roads. Talking about the changes, the front face and the rear are different while the body structure is similar in both the variants. Describing the TRD vehicle, new Corolla comes with an aggressive body package integrating the front spoiler, diffuser out back and side skirts. Also, a cat-back exhaust system, lowering springs and 19-inch alloy wheels are done up in bronze. Under the bonnet, its TRD model works on a 1.8-litre in-line cylinder petrol mill which is also offered in India producing the power output of 140 bhp and a maximum torque of 171 Nm. The mill comes coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Another TRD model showcased at the SEMA Show was the Camry. The vehicle is counted as one of the best-selling products in America since last 13 years. Camry, on the outside, receives a delicate body kit along with the front lip spoiler, new rear diffuser and extended side skirts. Under the TRD model, it has been lowered by an inch up front and at the rear end it is down by 1.5 inches with the TRD lowering springs. On the side, the car is carried on the huge 21-inch alloy wheels same as seen in the Corolla TRD model. Coming to the engine specifications, new Camry borrows new suspensions, sports exhaust and improved brake pads. It is powered by V6 petrol mill that can churn the power output of 268 bhp and a peak torque of 336 Nm.
Toyota is willing to push TRD model at the SEMA and comes with no surprises because rivals are coming up with their respective performance cars in the market.
Toyota recently launched new Land Cruiser 200 in the country at a price tag of INR 1.29 Crore. Updates can be seen on exteriors and interiors of this SUV. On the outside, a restyled radiator Grille and new projector headlamp unit are placed. Its wheel are wrapped with beefy A/T rubber. Now land Cruiser is offered in two new color patterns, they are the Dark Blue and Copper Brown. Interiors of the car comprise of LED illuminated entry system, Heated Steering wheel, luxurious cockpit, tire pressure monitoring and advanced multi-terrain monitor cameras where new tints of the interiors are the Flaxen and Brown.
