BMW Launches New M6 Gran Coupe in the Country at INR 1.71 Crore

The facelifted BMW receives large intake on the front bumper while the roof is made of carbon fiber.

BMW has launched the new M6 Gran Coupe in India at a price tag of INR 1.71 Crore (Ex-Showroom Delhi). The vehicle was launched at the recently opened BMW’s showroom in the country, mainly started to retail the ‘M’ performance versions of their cars. The studio was opened by Infinity Cars at Savoy Chambers in SantaCruz which is also the official dealer for the BMW brand in Indore.

The company is further planning to increase the showrooms at different cities they are Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Pune. At present, the showroom offers models like BMW M4, BMW M3 sedan, BMW M5 sedan and BMW M6 gran Coupe. Next vehicles inline are X5 M and X6 M which are expected to be launched later in the month of October. The vehicle will come on Indian shores via CBU route.

On the outside, updated BMW M6 Gran coupe flaunts an attractive body profile. From the front, the car gets kidney-shaped radiator grille with badging on the bonnet. The facelifted BMW receives large intake on the front bumper while the roof is made of carbon fiber. Vehicle comes with adaptive LED headlights and gets minor tweaks to the taillight cluster. While the side profile features attractive 20-inch alloy wheels, the rear sports stylish bumper with integrated diffuser.

Coming to the interiors, BMW M6 Coupe embraces the same interiors like other contemporary cars in the family. It gets the M badges on the inside while it sports multi-functional steering wheel with the switches mounted on it. Seats are covered with bespoke color combinations of upholstery and the state of the art M cockpit technology that features steering wheel and M driving dynamics with instrument cluster display. Updated M6 Gran Coupe also comes with feature like M Drive buttons on the steering and pre-programmed configuration for the comfortable or sporty drive.

Under the bonnet, updated BMW M6 Gran coupe receives the 4.4 liter, M twin turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine that has the capacity of producing the power output of 552 bhp and peak torque of 680 Nm sending power to the rear wheels through dual-clutch transmission. The vehicle can achieve the 0-100 kmph in mere 4.2 seconds and can reach to the top speed of 250 kmph. The car can give fuel economy of 10.1 kmpl and emits 232 g/km of CO2 emission.

The new BMW M6 Gran coupe has set a new benchmark with exceptional balance of power, dynamics, luxury and comfort, all that are seen in M models. The car is ready to write a new chapter in the success story, loaded by the perfect symbiosis of motorsport DNA. The BMW M6 Gran coupe restores the leadership of BMW M GmbH in the high-performance luxury segment.

The car will be offered in nine different color patterns viz. Black Sapphire, Singapore Grey, Space Grey, Alpine White, Silverstone, San Marino Blue, Jatoba, Imperial Blue, Sakhir Orange and Brilliant Effect.

Recently, the company launched the upgraded BMW 1 series in the country at the price tag of INR 29.90 lac. The car was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show and gets some minor tweaks on the inside and outside. The vehicle is longer this time as compared to its previous model having a length of 4329 mm, a width of 1765 mm and the height of 1440 mm. Headlamps too are bigger in size while the grille is kidney shaped.

Mechanically, BMW 1 series will be powered by a diesel unit seen in the previous 1-series. The engine is capable of producing the power output of 148 bhp and peak torque of 360Nm and comes mated to 8-speed automatic transmission.
