BENGALURU: Ashfaqulla Khan and Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil are true examples of the brotherhood between Hindus and Muslims, said AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh here on Monday.
He was speaking at the communal harmony day organised at Freedom Park to pay tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah read out a letter written by Ashfaqulla Khan to his mother before his hanging.  Actor Raza Murad, who played the character of Ashfaqulla Khan in his biopic, give a vivid picture of the freedom fighter’s life.

Major Akshay remembered
Parents of Major Akshay Girish, who was killed in a terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Nagrota in November, were present at the event. A documentary on Akshay was played as a tribute and the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of `7 lakh to them.
