ATM attacker may be brought to city tomorrow

BENGALURU: The city police, who went to Andhra Pradesh on Saturday to get custody of the ATM attacker Madhukar Reddy (32), are likely to bring him to the city on Tuesday for further interrogation.
Reddy was arrested by the Chittoor police on Saturday in connection with the attack on Jyothi Uday, a bank employee, in an ATM kiosk in N R Square (Corporation Circle) in November 2013.
City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood on Sunday held a meeting with senior officials on bringing Reddy for  interrogation.

On Saturday, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police had left for Madanapalle soon after they got information regarding the arrest of the assailant who was at large for three years.The special police team too reached Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
The officials will appeal to the court for a body warrant on Reddy for further probe. According to police, Reddy was earlier involved in two murder cases in Andhra Pradesh and was sent to jail. He later escaped from there and attacked Jyothi.
