BENGALURU: The Karnataka cabinet has decided to seek reimbursement of entire cost it has incurred in the disproportionate assets case against former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and her aide Sasikala.
The Supreme Court has in its order asked Sasikala to pay a fine of `10 crore as part of the punishment pronounced of which `5 crore is to be paid to Karnataka goverrnment which was the appellant in the case.
“We have spent a huge amount on law and order, logistics and other aspects of this long-drawn legal battle. We will write to the TN government to reimburse this cost,” Karnataka minister for Law and Parliamentary
Affairs minister T B Jayachandra said.
However the exact cost is yet to be calculated. “We will write to the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary after calculating the cost incurred and claim reimbursement,” Jayachandra said.
