BENGALURU: A 17-year-old boy has been sent to remand home on the charges of raping a minor girl. His two accomplices have been arrested in connection with the case.They are booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.The arrested have been identified as Puneeth (20) and Saadiq (21). Both the youths and the minor boy, who is the prime accused, are residents of Jalahalli and are unemployed.

The girl said in her statement that she was in love with the boy as they were neighbours, a senior police officer said. He had taken her to his home at Jalahalli and introduced her to his mother. Later, he raped her in the house, the officer said quoting her complaint. She did not return home for a few days fearing her mother, the officer said. Her mother filed a complaint on May 8 and five days later, the girl returned home, the officer said.The boy was absconding in Vijayawada and  nabbed upon a tip-off.
