Kashmir students get a tour of city

BENGALURU: A group of 19 high school boys and two teachers from Kashmir completed a three-day visit to Bengaluru organised by the Indian Army on Thursday. The tour was termed a Capacity Building Tour (CBT) under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ and was coordinated by headquarters of the Karnataka and Kerala sub areas. The students, from Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district, arrived in the city on Monday and visited Army Public School, Rashtriya Military School, Visvesvaraya Museum, Venkatappa Art Gallery, M Chinnaswamy Stadium and Vidhana Soudha during their trip.

They also met Major General K S Nijjar, General Officer Commanding of Karnataka and Kerala sub areas. The aim was to increase the students’ awareness about the latest advancement in the fields of science and technology, software industry, business management, hospitality and service industry. They were provided exposure to employment opportunities and economic progress in the country.
