KOCHI: Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, an IT hardware, mobile phone and electronics company, has launched its mobile phones in Kerala. The company has been active in the mobile phone segment in northern, eastern and western India and has only recently entered south India.

Sudhir Kumar, national sales manager-telecom, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, said that Intex had a portfolio of more than 20 entry, mid and high-end handsets in single and dual SIM genres. The company aims at capturing five percent market share in the state by March 2010.

Announcing the foray, company officials unveiled three new models of Intex handsets. They are Intex IN 6611 Ace, IN 4495 - the latest in the Intex dual sim collection which the company describes as Do Dilwale Phone - and a CDMA handset Intex IN 80.

Sales are routed through a channel network comprising 2000 distributors and 12,000 dealers spread across the country.

During the last seven financial years, the company turnover has increased from Rs 32 crore in 2001-02 to Rs 466 crore in 2008- 09 at a CAGR of 46 percent which is almost twice the industry growth rate. The target turnover figure for the financial year 2009-10 is Rs 800 crore.
