BHUBANESWAR: The state-owned National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) Wednesday said it has started production of the superior aluminium T-ingots for the first time in the country.

The production has started at the company's smelter plant at Angul, 161 km from here, a senior company official told IANS.

The commencement of domestic sale of T-ingots was also flagged off Wednesday by the company's commercial director Ansuman Das at Angul in the presence of other senior officials, he said.

The first trucks of aluminium T-ingots were dispatched to Jindal Aluminium, JSK Industries and Gupta Power Infrastructure Limited, he said.

The T-ingot casting machine is supplied by Hertwich Engineering, Austria, he said.

The Bhubaneswar-headquartered NALCO is Asia's largest integrated aluminium producer.
