MUMBAI: More heads are expected to roll in the Tata darbar drama, following the meeting of senior executives of Tata Group here at the group headquarters, Bombay House, on Tuesday.

While replacing Cyrus Mistry with Ratan Tata as the interim chairman of the group, his key advisers, too, were removed on Monday. With the meeting of top executives today, more action is expected in coming days, a senior Tata group executive told The New Indian Express.

At least three key advisers of Mistry have been removed so far. The next lot is likely to be that of the key appointments made by him, said sources in Bombay House.

After becoming chairman of the group in 2013, Mistry had entrusted a team of six executives with giving strategic guidance to him. This gang of six, Group Executive Council as it is known, had on board CHRO head NS Rajan, strategist Nirmalya Kumar, business development officer Madhu Kannan, Harish Bhat and brand custodian Mukund Rajan. While NS Rajan, Kumar and Kannan were shown doors along with Mistry, Harish Bhat and Mukund Rajan are likely to get alternative roles, the sources said.

Indian Hotels MD Rakesh Sarna is most likely to be next executive from the group to lose job, since Mistry and Tata had serious differences over the appointment, sources indicated.

The sources also indicated that Ratan Tata who is back at the helm of affairs, is expected to bring back his own team of people including RK Krishna Kumar, JJ Irani, NA Soonawala - his earlier advisers who were among the most influential within the behemoth.
