KOCHI: Air India Express, the low-cost arm of Air India, has achieved the prestigious IOSA (International Operational Safety Audit) registration following an internationally recognised audit carried out by IATA.

The registration, valid for two years has been awarded after rigorous assessments of the operational management and control systems of the airline. IOSA standards are specified for systems, policies, programmes, procedures, plans, sets of measures, facilities, components, types of equipment or any other aspects of operations under the scope of IOSA that are considered an operational necessity. “This recognition is a testimony of Air India Express’s hard work to conform to internationally accepted standards,” said

K Shyam Sundar, CEO, Air India Express. “Though the airline follows the market principles of a low cost carrier, we spare no effort in ensuring passenger comfort and quality of service while delivering affordable air travel to our esteemed customers,” he said.

The country’s first international budget carrier, Air India Express is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India Ltd. The Airline operates about 550 flights per week, connecting 15 Indian cities and 14 international destinations in West Asia and South East Asia.
