CHENNAI: Iconic biscuit-maker Britannia Industries Ltd has expanded its offerings in the fast-growing premium cookie category with the launch of Good Day Wonderfulls in three variants — Choconut, Butter Almond, and Berries & Nuts — priced at Rs 10 for 30g and Rs 25 for 75g.

Good Day is the company’s largest brand and the new range is driven by the preference of customers for newer tastes, said the firm. “The mid-premium cookie segment has grown by 23 per cent last year, which clearly indicates that Indian consumers are upgrading to indulgent cookies,” Ali Harris Shere, vice-president of marketing, said in a statement.

The total premium cookies market is worth Rs 4,000 crore, according to the firm, and Good Day alone commands  sales of Rs 2,600 crore.  As part of its strategy, Britannia will roll out its Good Day Wonderfulls range in the southern part of the country first before going national.
