CHENNAI: In the age of smart phones and social media, photography has become the ‘universal language’ to transcend barriers in language and geography. After giving the country a premiere photography institute — ‘Light and Life Academy’, renowned photographers Iqbal Mohamed and Anuradha Iqbal recently launched India’s largest online photography institute — ‘LLA online’ in 10 Indian languages, in the city.

“We finally realised our ultimate dream. This was a way to reach out to all those aspiring photographers to hone their skills in a convenient and affordable way,” shared Iqbal.

The site’s first programme ‘Get Creative with Photography’ is backed by real-time assignments and will also be evaluated by real-time mentors. Participants cannot move on to the next module without submitting the assignments related to the previous module.

The launch also hosted a panel discussion on ‘How art springs deeper the more one celebrates its multiple manifestation’, with artistes Dhananjayan and Shantha Dhananjayan, Bombay Jayashri, Keshav V and Anil Srinivasan. “For me appreciating art, be it music, dance or painting is a celebration and I love doing it. That appreciation and interest can create a big change in life and art will flow,” said Dhananjayan.

Anuradha said that photography is the art of seeing, and added: “We are hoping that this step would benefit a plethora of people. I am so glad that all these accomplished artistes attended the launch, and took part in discussions. We all have something to take away  from it” she added.
