DAVANAGERE: In a major political development, the BJP candidate and former MP, Siddeshwara’s nomination papers were kept pending during the scrutiny of nomination papers on Saturday.

According to deputy commissioner Manjunath Prasad, Maruthi, an independent candidate in his complaint filed with the Election Officer, has alleged that the BJP candidate Siddeshwara spent Rs 77.50 lakh from the MP development fund, sanctioned for local area development.

Talking to reporters, DC said since objection was filed, Siddeshwara’s nomination papers were kept pending and a notice has been served to him demanding a reply on the issue on April 13.
