BANGALORE: A picture is worth a 1,000 words.
And taking this concept to new heights is Shivkumar Parthasarathy, creative head of bigoye.
com. “Thanks to Amitabh Bachchan, blogging has gone to a different level altogether. So we thought of exploring photo blogging, also known as plogging. That’s how we started a plog on bigoye.com where we can invite celebrities to share their pictorial moments.’’ So, how did filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan happen? “Sivan is an old friend and photography runs in his family (his brother is cinematographer Santhosh Siva n ) , ” exp l a ins Parthasarathy.
When Parthasarathy and Gautam Buragohain, the editor of bigoye.com discussed their plogging idea with him, Sivan thought this would be a fantastic platform to share his pictures with everyone. His photos are uploaded almost everyday on http:// sangeethclicks.bigoye.com.
I wonder if Sivan’s photos are recent or mementoes of good times but Parthasarathy clarifies that the collection comprises both old and recent, some which have been taken specially for bigoye.com. The photos will be replenished every day.
One suggestion: We think the photo captions should be made more legible.
So what’s unique about this? A feature called Oyetweet brings out the Tweets and status messages of our celebrities, which are, otherwise, not accessible to the common man.
There is also a director’s corner where leading directors share their filmmaking experiences.
