BANGALORE: WI-FI system was inaugurated at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) on Wednesday by chief secretary S V Ranganath.

The alumni association of BMCRI sponsored the system.

They dedicated it to the staff and students of the institute on the eve of Doctors’ Day.

“In 2005, during the institute’s Golden Jubilee, we had built the digital library with 60 nodes, one of the biggest digital library in a medical college in the country. Now we have financed the Wi-Fi enabling of the entire campus,” said Dr N Rangaraj, president, Bangalore Medical College Alumni Association.

He said they were starting a Surgical Skills Training Centre at the Institute, which, he claimed, would be the first of its kind in the state.

Senior doctors and alumni, Dr K S Shekar, Plastic Surgeon and medical educationist Dr D K Srinivas were felicitated.
