Director Dayal Padmanabhan, who handled the megaphone for movies such as Okay Sir Okay, Masaale and Sriharikathe, has come out with a neat subject this time. The USP of Yogaraj But is the dialogues and a crisp screenplay during the pre-intermission session.

However, the director failed to maintain the same during the post-intermission. A few scenes, especially those where hero’s soul interacts with Paramatha and Yama, test the patience of audience.

Had the director avoided such incongruous sequences, Yogaraj But would have been a neat and good entertainer.

Among the artistes, Neethu has done a decent job. Her gestures and dialogue delivery are good.

She has all the qualities to become one of the top heroines if provided an opportunity.

Naveen Krishna, who penned dialogues and helped the director in writing screenplay, walks away with all honours. His dialogue delivery, especially the way he tells the names of all the heroes of Sandalwood in a single take, deserves appreciation.

The movie is about Sihi (Neethu), an administrative officer of Siddaganga Mutt, on her way to London she halts in Bangalore for a few days. She meets Yogaraj alias Bachchalmane Singer Yogaraj (Naveen Krishna), a psychology student who practices astrology for survival. Inspired by the talkative skills of Yogaraj, Sihi asks him to work as a driver-cum-guide for a day.

Impressed by Sihi’s simplicity and beauty, Yogaraj falls in love with her. Meanwhile, Sihi is set to leave for London.

Yogaraj, who wants to accompany Sihi to the airport, meets with a road accident and dies.

However, the director introduces a scene where Yogaraj’s soul pleads with Paramatma (Suchendra Prasad) to give him a chance to meet Sihi.Paramatma considers his request. However, Yogaraj again meets with a road accident and dies.

The music director has provided lilting music and Cinematographer B Rakesh has done a neat job behind the camera. It is worth watching.
