BANGALORE: A man who did not want to live with his wife due to her dark complexion murdered her by strangulating her with a rope.
The incident was reported at Kaverinagar in Mahadevapura police station limits on Tuesday evening.
The victim has been identified as Shashikala (30), while her husband, the accused, is Muniraju (33), a driver of BBMP’s garbagecollecting auto. They had been married for 12 years and have two children.
According to the police, Muniraju quarrelled with his wife frequently, insulting her about her dark complexion, as well as accusing her of infidelity.
Following a heated argument on Tuesday, Muniraju allegedly strangulated his wife using a rope, the police said.
Shashikala’s mother, Rathnamma, filed a case against Muniraju for murder, following which he was arrested by Mahadevapura police.
Further investigations are going on in connection with the murder case.
