BANGALORE: ISRO Layout will soon have modern bus stand with a parking lot, commercial outlets and offices. General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ananth Kumar on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the ` 10-crore project that is expected to be completed in nine months.

Spread over one acre 30 guntas of land, the building will have bus stops on the ground floor, commercial offices on the first and second floor and parking space for two and fourwheelers on the third floor.

The building will also have well-connected restaurants, pass counters and toilets.

Speaking on the occasion, Ananth Kumar said, “We are number one transport department in the country and I request the transport department to complete this modern bus stand within nine months so that we can give this as a gift for Ugadi next year. In this layout, most of the residents are from ISRO, so I think the name of the bust stop should be Chandrayaan.” Space Colony Welfare Association Member Aswin said, “We are very happy to get this bus stand. The state government is providing all the facilities the residence of the area required. There was only one park for the entire layout three years back but now there are three parks, good roads, storm water drainage and sewage system.

Everything is so well maintained in the layout." Minister for Home and Transport R Ashok, BBMP Mayor Sharadamma, BMTC Vice President M Krishnappa, members of BBMP and other officials were present on the occasion.
