BANGALOARE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda advised BBMP Councillors to follow the principles of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.

Speaking at the main ‘Kempegowda Day’ programme on Friday, he said, “Many elected representatives have become selfish nowadays. Getting elected by the people is an opportunity to serve the masses. In this regard, one should follow Kempegowda’s political principles.”

The councillors performed many group songs. The Chief Minister appreciated their performance.  “People are watching you. Do work which is public oriented that helps to develop Bangalore. People will give you full marks,” Gowda told the councilors. He appealed to the public to keep the city clean. The councillors requested the CM to install Kempegowda’s statue between Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha. Gowda said it would be done.

‘Don’t Sit in BBMP’

Councillors also got a piece of advice from Home and District In-charge Minister R Ashok.  “Kempegowda  always used to travel and go to the people to know their problems. One should not sit at BBMP or Vidhana Soudha. Work for people,” he advised.
