For them, hard work pays off with gold

BANGALORE: All that glittered at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium on Central College on Thursday was gold. A number of students received gold medals for their achievement in studies. Express spoke to a few gold medallists. Rukmini, who bagged gold medals in MA (Kannada) said, “My teachers encouraged me to apply for Masters Degree. I come from a humble background and my mother works a labourer. She has supported and motivated me in every way possible. I wish to dedicate these gold medals to my mother,” she plans to wirte KAS.

Santhosh Kumar, who bagged eight gold medals in MSc (Chemistry) said, “Love for Chemistry made me study MSc. My parents and friends constantly guided me.”

Anusha Ramachandra Singu, who received eight gold medals in B Com, said, “I am from Sirsi. I came here for studies. I studied well, but I am not too studious. I am interested in theatre, writing and debates.”

Pavana M Bombhore who got seven medals in M Sc (Physics),stated, “I understood the concepts which helped a lot in scoring well. I received great support of my parents and my teachers. I would like to thank them all on this occasion.”

Viyolla Pavana Pinto (MSc in Zoology) and Kushal R in (BSc) won 5 gold medals each.

Pavana dedicated her achievement to her parents and said she wants to pursue research. Kushal is a student of  Bagepalli.
