New Wards at Jayadeva Hospital

BANGALORE: Newly constructed wards at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR) were inaugurated by State Apex Bank President Dr R M Manjunath Gowda on Wednesday. These wards have been sponsored by the bank at a cost of `50 lakh.

Gowda formally handed over a cheque of `50 lakh to institute’s Director Dr C N Manjunath. Speaking on the occasion, Gowda said, “The institute has been serving the poor, and our bank is ready to support its initiatives under our special schemes.”

Dr Manjunath said that the institute was committed to serve the poor and underprivileged.

“We have pooled up nearly `20 crore for the treatment of the poor, and providing quality healthcare is our aim. We acknowledge the bank’s support,” he said.

On April 22, the BBMP handed over a cheque of `3 crore for the treatment of urban poor to Dr Manjunath at a similar programme.
