BANGALORE: Karnataka Rajya Naisargika Krishi Andolana Vedike is conducting a state-level workshop on organic farming at Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur from May 5 to 9.

The main aim of the workshop is to promote organic farming and reduce the utilisation of artificial fertilisers.

Speaking to reporters, representative of the organisation Swami Anand said it is promoting organic farming from the past eight years. Urging the people to start using natural fertilisers, he stated, “Cultivation should be free of artificial fertilisers which are poisonous in nature. Instead, manure from cows and other animals can be used to grow crops of good quality. This not only is good for crops, but will also help the soil retain its fertility.”

Around 3,500 farmers have joined the workshop already.
