‘Help cops to prevent crime’

“People should know what is happening in the society and their cooperation will help police to prevent crime incidents,” said City Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji on Thursday.

He was speaking at the inauguration of “crime prevention month” organised by east division police at CMR School in HRBR Layout.

Stressing the importance of police and public cooperation, he called upon the public to inform the police, if they notice any suspicious persons or objects.

“Increased cooperation between people and police will help in reducing the crime rate,” he added.

Police Crack 240 Cases in 3 Months

West division police have cracked 240 cases and have arrested 176 people.

Booty worth `2.10 crore have been recovered from them.

The arrests were made in the last three months. Various cases including 86 two-wheeler theft cases, 16 chain snatching cases have been cracked.

The recovered stolen property include 4.100 kg of gold jewels, and other items, a press release from the police said.
