Rowdy murder case cracked, 7 arrested

The organised crime wing police of the Central Crime Branch police have cracked the murder case of notorious rowdy Shivakumar alias Rudra and arrested seven in this connection.

 Rudra was hacked to death in Shanthipriya Layout in Bommanahalli on December 9.

 The accused have been identified as Velu, 30, Ramesh, 25, his brother, Ranjith, 28, Karthik, 28, Shanmugham alias Sun, 30, Saravana, 35, and Armugam, 29.

 All resided behind Poornima Theatre in Ramanna Garden.

 Police said Rudra along with the accused Shanmugham’s brother Velu, had allegedly murdered retired SP Thammaiah in Yelahanka.

 Later, their was a dispute between Rudra and Velu.

 Rudra and his associates allegedly murdered Velu in 2011 and he was acquitted in this case four months ago.

 To retaliate his brother’s murder, Shanmugham conspired to eliminate Rudra.

 “After Rudra’s release, Shanmugha’s aides followed Rudra.

 On December 9, when Rudra was going along with his girlfriend and her children in his car, the assailants followed him.

 In Shanthipriya Layout, they waylaid him and hacked him to death,” the police said.

 The accused were nabbed near Maddur bus station in Mandya.
