BBMP to remove ad banners

BANGALORE: Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will start its  drive against illegal  advertising banners and flexes from Saturday.

A press release from BBMP said that many illegal advertising banners on tree branches, boards to convey birthday wishes, death condolences, festival wishes and other boards put up across city illegally are marring the beauty of city. In this regard BBMP Commissioner M K Shankaralinge Gowda ordered Additional and Joint Commissioners to remove them with effect from Saturday. He also asked them to take action if such illegal flexes and advertisements are seen under Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act.
