BANGALORE: The word ‘love’ attracts everyone’s attention. As Germaine De Stael once said, “Love is the emblem of eternity: it confounds all notion of time: effaces all memory of a beginning, all fear of an end.” Ravinder Singh, author of I too had a love story was in the city recently to launch his new book, Can love happen twice? He shared his experience about the book and his interest in writing with City Express.

In his first book I too had a love story, the author has penned down his own experiences and tragic event that occurred in his life. His second book Can love happen twice is a completely different love story. Ravinder who is known for writing in the romance genre spoke in length about his new book. “I am quite comfortable writing  romantic books. My first book was autobiographical but the second book is a mix and match of love stories that people have shared with me over a period of time, “said Singh. He also shared that he would like to experiment with other genres in future.

The author said that he received his good response for his first book. He writes about emotions and the emotional connection between people. “People started sharing their love stories through mails and blogs. I was taken aback when people killed their love through divorce or break-up etc. This is what inspired me to write this book.”

Ravinder Singh in his writings brings in elements and characters that connect with people. He started writing in January and gave himself August as the deadline, and managed to publish it in December. Speaking about the pressure he underwent to publish a book while studying, he said, “It was very difficult to manage both. I set strict deadlines and decided to adhere to them."

He also opined that though the concept has remained the same over the years, ways of expressing love have changed. “People have found so many ways to express their love as the world is shrinking through social networking sites. Today love at first sight happens on Facebook,” he concludes.
