Seminar on women empowerment

BANGALORE: Karnataka State Women Development Corporation (KSWDC) is organising a seminar on economic empowerment of women on January 23 at Mythic Society in the city.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, KSWDC Chairperson Rohini Bharadwaj said issues related to women like abolition of Devadasi system and economic empowerment will be discussed in the seminar. It will also create awareness about the facilities that government is providing to women, she added.

“The atrocities against women are increasing. We will also discuss ways to stop those crimes and enlighten women about their rights,” she said. CM D V Sadananda Gowda is expected to inaugurate the seminar. Bangalore Central MP P C Mohan  will be present.
