BANGALORE: Governor H R Bhardwaj on Sunday said that he would order an inquiry into the allegations against Visvesvaraya Technological University V-C H Maheshappa who is accused of providing incorrect information on his educational qualifications during his appointment.

“I will appoint a retired Judge to look into the allegations against the VTU V-C immediately after getting the copy of the HC order,” Bhardwaj who is the ex-officio chancellor of all universities, including VTU, told reporters on the sidelines of a function. Disposing of a PIL against Maheshappa, the HC said the Governor was the competent authority to decide on the issue. Maheshappa is accused of giving incorrect information that he had passed his BE with a first class.
